Rem Isotropic Super finishing (ISF)
Is not a coating, an acid or polish. It is a chemical-vibratory process which greatly improves upon conventional grinding, lapping, and abrasive honing techniques to produce an ultra-smoothing, non-directional, and uniform surface that retains just enough rounded micro-texture to retain lubricating media and prevent pitting and/or material transfer. Better surface characteristics allow the use of lower viscosity lubricants, and service cycles for oil and filter changes can be lengthened. The ISF process reduces friction and in turn, heat. That means longer part life and reduced failure rates, as well as fewer fuel and lubricant requirements.
